Me and Sucharitha… we got married,
on September 5.
Neither of us were teachers…
I didn’t even know September 5th was Teachers Day.
But as providence would have it
Eventually, a software consultant became a teacher on life. Myself.
And an aspiring company secretary, Sucharitha also went on to become a teacher.
It was a period when I used to go and drop…
my son
every day in school and pick him up from school.
And I got to see
the role of a teacher in the shaping of a child’s life.
So I made it a singular purpose in my life…
that I will celebrate September 5,
not only personally,
but I’ll do enough public programs…
to create this awareness about the role of teachers in our life.
I made it a mission in my life
that I will single handedly make
Teachers Day – one of the most celebrated days
in India.
Every year we used to do public programs
to celebrate the fraternity of teachers.
And most importantly, tell teachers,
‘If teachers don’t feel proud about being teachers, then who will?’
And now the government itself has taken over this,
where
the government itself wants to celebrate September 5th,
year on year, as a dedication to teachers.
So right now, I’m on another mission…
‘Other than teachers
if a country is what a country is…
whom would I personally
dedicate it to?
If you asked me this question…
I know you will raise your eyebrows.
But I would dedicate it to Entrepreneurs.
The economy of a country
the financial stability of a country
the employment opportunities created in a country,
the growth and development of a country,
everything depends on an infrastructure of a country
and infrastructure cannot happen without money.
And the heart and soul of
economic development as a result
is the entrepreneurship community,
the least celebrated, unfortunately.
So right now,
infinitheism and Mahatria together, we have taken this as a mission,
that we will teach the world
to celebrate
entrepreneurs,
entrepreneurship
and give this fraternity, the due
dignity, respect, reverence that they deserve.
Because nothing good in the world can happen,
without infrastructure.
No infrastructure is possible without money.
And it’s the entrepreneurs who are at the heart of all this.
Even to build a temple,
some entrepreneur has to create the financial surplus and contribute.
To build
Outstanding educational institution…
life-saving healthcare facilities…
Nothing can happen without the contribution of entrepreneurs.
Why all this?
All the NGOs,
where we call them the angels of the society
for doing the amount of selfless work
that they do.
How would they do all these things without contribution
and where is the contribution coming from?
As much as we can celebrate all the governments of the world
and globally Rotary for the role that they have played for polio eradication,
if an entrepreneur in Bill Gates
and Microsoft did not participate in that…
99% of the countries in the world today cannot claim,
‘We are a polio free country’.
So behind all the good that happens in the world,
there is either a, or a fraternity of entrepreneurs who are playing their role.
And yet they are never called angels.
So in my head
the greatest charity workers of the world
are actually entrepreneurs.
In my head, the epitome of sacrifice,
are actually entrepreneurs.
Because they, in exchange of investing their life
create so much of abundance
that the rest of the world gets to benefit.
So this is infinitheism Mahatria’s initiative
to celebrate January 11, every year
as entrepreneurship day.
And it is our way of saluting
the entire fraternity of entrepreneurs.
All the entrepreneurs in the world,
the startups…
to the global multinationals…
on behalf of the rest of the humanity,
we show our appreciation to you
by saluting you
and celebrating January 11 as
‘Entrepreneurship Day’.
